Overview
The Summer School serves as the entry phase of the Highland Institute's 12-month Postgraduate Certificate in Research (PGCertR). Designed for participants seeking advanced research training, the PGCertR provides structured support for the development of independent research projects and professional academic skills.
The programme combines mentorship, research training, writing support, and practical research experience through participation in ongoing projects and scholarly activities at the Institute.
The PGCertR supports participants in:
Developing research proposals and independent research projects.
Preparing academic articles, reports, and other research outputs for publication.
Receiving mentorship and guidance for doctoral applications and further postgraduate study.
Acquiring advanced training in qualitative and interdisciplinary research methods.
Strengthening academic writing, critical analysis, and research communication skills.
Participating in seminars, workshops, and collaborative research activities.
Preparing for future research opportunities and fellowships within the Highland Institute and partner institutions.
Building professional networks through engagement with researchers, fellows, and visiting scholars.
Successful completion of the programme provides participants with
